News from club captain
Hello and welcome back to the new term! We’ve got some exiting things lined up …
Firstly, we’re expanding and improving our coaching mix. Robert Kiss will be returning and taking every-other Saturday morning session, mixing lessons in between free-fencing.
We also welcome, Tim Noble on Sabre and Dave Jerry on Epee, to run group sessions and coaching, specifically aimed at these weapons. For full details of dates see below.
The first social of the year will take place on Monday the 6th of October in Pulse, downstairs in the union, at 7:30pm. Then on to Happy Mondays, a super fun night in the union with drinks only £1.50. We’ve got guest list and free entry so looks like we’re set for an awesome night!
We hope to see you all down there, get to know some new faces and catch up with some old ones!
The New BUCS (formerly BUSA) championships start again in October, and team trials will take place in the weeks running up to it, girls get ready for Wednesday 15th October, we'll also be having a girly social afterwards!
Message from the Men's Teams:
"Hello everyone - old and new fencers. On Wednesday 1st October at 2pm Sports Hall 3 the men's team trials/try-outs will be held.
Please dont feel intimidated if your not that expereinced - so long as you've fenced electric before (any weapon) we would like you to come down for a fun hour or so of fencing. Even if you havent fenced for a while we would like you all to have a go.
This year for the first time ever we have a men's 2nd team and we dont know what the level of ability will be yet so do come down and try out for it - being on a university team is great fun!!! There are plenty of spaces on both teams (including reserves)
So do hope to see you there - please dont be late.
Regards
Tom Exeter (Men's 1st Team Captain)
Tom Davis (Men's 2nd Team Captain) "
