After you've given us a try, if you wish to continue attending club training sessions and competetions, it is necessary to become a fully registered member of the club. This is now done through the Leeds University Union website. First you need to register an account on the union's website - you can do this even if you aren't a student. Then you need to make your way to the fencing club page and click the button to join - you'll then have to pay through the website (Fees for 2009/10 are £35 for the year - this includes all coaching and equipment costs).
